Could 2011 Turn Paul White into City Councilor White?

Cedar City Councilor Dale Brinkerhoff is Leaving City Council this month because he won election to County Commissioner Seat for Iron County Utah and has decided he did not want to do both City Council and County Commissioner!! So I have been thinking of this!! I am currently serving on the City Disability Committee and Serving on City Council could be a benefit for the community as I have insight of Disability issues!! Long story short I Submitted my paperwork today to City Hall to show intent and interest in this position. There is only 1 year left on this term and that being said. Campaigning is not necessary to fill this seat so I have nothing to lose by entering my name in the hat!! When I dropped off my paperwork today I was informed that a number of people have done the same!! So there is plenty of competition!! That is good in the sense that it shows the community is civically minded. We shall see what happens within the next 2 weeks!! and I will of course let you know what happens!!

I will not announce this on my facebook page until I find out whether or not I am still in the running after they narrow down the list of candidates. that won't happen till next week!! so if i happen to be in the field after being narrowed down that could be fun... Crossing my Fingers now!!
